I was on Negros from March to September at which time I was baptized into the Catholic Church by Fr. Fortich. I was a good friend of Edith and her brother who owned the Argos theater, across the city park.
At that time, I was housed in the Capitol building working with the radio system for the 503rd Parachute Infantry regiment. I thoroughly enjoyed my time in Bacolod City. After the war was over, I was taken to Dumaguete where I went by boat to Mindanao where I was put on a ship and returned to the United States. I loved your fine city.
