Muntinlupa was supervised by the Augustinian Friars in 1601. It became a district of Morong, Rizal in 1901.
On November 25, 1903, it became part of Laguna… the people protested. It returned to Rizal in 1905 to become part of Taguig… the people protested again. It finally became independent in 1917.
